Cascabel offers you high-quality translations of all types of texts from English, Slovenian, and Spanish to Croatian, as well as from Croatian to English. We can also organise translations to and from other official languages in the EU.
We will do our best to accommodate your needs regarding the deadline, in line with our capacities needed to ensure the appropriate quality of the translation.
We also offer editing and proof-reading for texts in English and Croatian.
We are specialised for the translation of legal texts, texts pertaining to the automotive industry, as well as tourism, hospitality and gastronomy, but we have substantial experience in translations of all kinds of texts. Feel free to contact us without reservations.
The price of the translation is determined based on the size
of the text (the unit we apply is one text page, which is
comprised of 1500 characters without spaces), its topic and
complexity, and the deadline for delivery. Please contact us
for a precise quote, and we will provide you with all
necessary information as soon as possible. The final price is
determined once the translation is finished, but deviations
from the quoted price are usually insignificant or
non-existent.
You can pay for your translation once you receive the invoice.
We use a Computer-Aided Translation tool called SDL Trados
Studio, so your text should be in .doc format (Microsoft Word)
for the best possible results. The text can also be in Excel,
PowerPoint or an editable .pdf format. If the text is in a
format in which it cannot be edited (such as a scanned
document in .jpeg or .pdf), we can charge an additional fee
for basic graphic editing of the text (formatting, tables,
etc.). This is always agreed with the client.
If you are sending us a PowerPoint document, please indicate
whether the text in the “Notes” frame (if any) needs to be
translated.
CAT (Computer-Aided Translation) tools are special software products used by translators to ensure consistency within the translation and preserve the formatting of the text. Clients are often worried that this means a service such as Google Translate will be used on their text, but it is nothing like this. CAT tools are not used for automatic machine translation. Instead, we use them to create translation memories (TMs) during the translation process which can then, especially if the text contains lots of repetitions, help shorten the time needed for translation, which can sometimes lead to a decreased price. The software can also be used for analysing the text before translation to see if there are any repetitions, which can then lead to a lower price in the quote.
Don't worry, we treat all documents we receive as confidential and we do not reveal information stated in them to anyone. If you decide not to use our services, we will delete the document from our database and from our e-mails.
The easiest way is to use Microsoft Word. Simply go to the
“Review” tab, choose “Word Count” and divide the number shown
under Characters (no spaces) with 1500. The resulting number
is the number of text pages in your document.
If you have more than one document, or your text is in a
format that does not allow for this type of calculation (such
as Excel or PowerPoint, or an editable .pdf document), we use
a special software tool for the estimation of text pages,
called AnyCount.
